MALINYAMUKTHA CAMPUS- A STEP TOWARDS A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE
Malinya Muktha Campus or green campus initiative has been successfully
implemented in our college, as part of its commitment towards promoting
environmental sustainability and responsible waste management. This project
aims to ensure a clean and green campus by adopting systematic waste
segregation and disposal methods.
Under this initiative, waste generated within the campus is carefully classified
into biodegradable and non biodegradable waste. Biodegradable waste is
effectively utilized in the College garden, where it contributes to soil enrichment
and plant growth. Non-biodegradable waste is responsibly collected and
handed over to the government-appointed agency for proper disposal and
recycling, ensuring minimal environmental impact.
The program is systematically managed by a Nodal Officer, who oversees the
implementation of waste management strategies. Additionally, teacher
representatives and student representatives, along with dedicated teacher and
student volunteers, actively participate in the initiative. Their collective efforts
help maintaining the efficiency of the waste management system.
To facilitate waste segregation, the campus is equipped with separate waste
bins for plastic and biodegradable, making disposal more organized and
effective. These measures have significantly improved waste management
within the college premises, contributing to a cleaner and healthier learning
environment.
In recognition of these efforts we have been awarded an “A” grade certification
by the Government of Kerala from MLA U.R. Pradeep for its exemplary
commitment to cleanliness and environment sustainability. This achievement
stands as a testament to the institution dedication to maintaining a Malinya
Muktha (waste free) Campus, setting an inspiring example for other educational
institutions to follow.
