NSS Seven-Day Special Camping Programme
‘YOUTH FOR BHARATH YOUTH FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT’
Venue: GUPS Killimangalam (20-12-2024 to 26-12-2024)
Day 1: 20th December 2024 (Friday)
The NSS Seven-Day Special Camping Programme commenced at 4:30 PM with the
registration of volunteers. Following registration, volunteers prepared the camp venue. The
first session, an ice-breaking activity, was handled by Satheesh Sir, Jisha Ma’am, and
Viju Sir. All volunteers actively participated in this engaging session. The day concluded
with a review and feedback session.
Day 2: 21st December 2024 (Saturday)
The second day began with a Zumba dance session led by Al Eesha, which was
enthusiastically participated in by all students. After breakfast, arrangements were made for
the inaugural session. Shrimati V. Thankamma, President of Panjal Grama Panchayat,
inaugurated the camp, and Prof. (Dr.) Bloomy Joseph, Principal of the college, delivered the
presidential address.
Post-lunch, Smt. Preetha M, NSS Regional Project Coordinator, conducted the first session
on “NSS Camp Orientation.” The session proved highly beneficial to the volunteers. After the
tea break, Remya Shekhar, Pazhayannur Block Coordinator, Haritha Keralam Mission, led a
session on “Waste Management.” The day ended with cultural activities, followed by a
review and feedback session.
Day 3: 22nd December 2024 (Sunday)
The third day began with an aerobic dance session led by Dr. Lovie Abro, HOD,
Department of Physical Education. After the flag hoisting and the day’s message by Dr.
Lovie Ma’am, the morning session on “The Art of Public Speaking” was conducted by
Dinesh Sir, Viju Sir, Vineetha Ma’am, and G. K. Sir from Positive Commune, Thrissur.
Post-lunch, the first session was on ‘Gender Equality’ by Shani Ammu renowned theatre
artist, who facilitated an interactive session. All volunteers actively participated sharing their
perspectives. Shani Ammu delivered a thought-provoking presentation highlighting the
challenges and difficulties faced by the transgender community in today’s society. This
session aimed to promote awareness, empathy and inclusivity.
The second session was “Nataka Kalari,” followed by a skit titled “Vayassanmar,”
performed by P. D. Poulose. The skit focused on caring for elderly people. The day
concluded with cultural activities and a feedback session.

Day 4: 23rd December 2024 (Monday)
The day began with a Yoga session led by Sijumon Sir, Assistant Professor, Department of
English. After flag hoisting and the day’s message, the first session was conducted by Salim
Enudheen, an environmentalist, on “Sustainable Development and Environmental
Pollution”, which sparked active discussions among the volunteers.
The next session, “Emergency Medical Aid,” was conducted by the Fire and Rescue Station,
Vadakkanchery. Volunteers were trained in CPR and first aid techniques. Dr. Divya, DMO,
FHC Killimangalam, led the final morning session on “AIDS Awareness—Take the Right
Path.”
After lunch, Smt. Sreena Vinod from Janaseva Kendram, Killimangalam, conducted a
session on “Digital Services to the Public.” This was followed by an Anti-Drugs
Awareness Program handled by Sri Satheesh Kumar, Sub-Inspector, Chelakkara Police
Station. The day ended with cultural activities and a feedback session.
Day 5: 24th December 2024 (Tuesday)
The day started with a morning walk and flag hoisting, with the day’s message delivered by
Sri Ashraf K. U., Pazhayannur Block Panchayat President. Volunteers celebrated
Christmas with the children of the Autism Centre, Panjal. The program was inaugurated by
Sri Krishnankutty, Vice President of Panjal Grama Panchayat, and the presidential address
was given by Shrimati V. Thankamma, President of Panjal Grama Panchayat.
In the afternoon, volunteers conducted a digital survey in the adopted 8th and 9th wards,
gaining insights into the digital services utilized by the residents and promoting awareness of
government initiatives. The day concluded with Christmas carols, cultural activities, and
feedback.
Day 6: 25th December 2024 (Wednesday)
The day began with cleaning the camp venue. After breakfast, Sheeba S., assistant professor
at the Department of Commerce, conducted a skill development session on dishwashing
liquid preparation. Volunteers celebrated Christmas, followed by a cleaning campaign in the
adopted wards inaugurated by Sri Ramdas Karath, Ward Member of Panjal Grama
Panchayat. Volunteers collected and segregated waste, which was handed over to Haritha
Karma Sena. The day concluded with cultural activities and feedback.
Day 7: 26th December 2024 (Thursday)
The final day started with the cleaning of the camp venue, followed by flag hoisting and a
day’s message by Salim Enudheen, who also led a session on “The Impact of
Environmental Pollution on Sustainable Development”.
Varshitha V. V., NSS Secretary, presented the camp report. Volunteers performed cultural
programs, cleaned the camp premises, and concluded the camp with a formal closing
ceremony. The program ended at 3:30 PM.
